Application of ESURGING Maglev Turbo Air Compressor in Glass Container Manufacturing

Glass containers, as packing material, have been widely used for the advantages of secure, heat resistant, pressure resistant, easy to clean, beautiful and reusable.

There are four main steps in the production process of glass containers: dosing, founding, forming, and annealing.

· Dosing

The main raw material of glass containers is sand, limestone, feldspar, sodium carbonate and boric acid. Mix the raw materials in the blender mixer according to the formulation.

· Founding

Heat the mixer at high temperature in the furnace to form bubble-free glass liquid.

· Forming

Within a certain temperature range, the glass liquid is transformed into a solid one with a certain shape. This is a cooling process in which glass liquid is transformed into a malleable state and then into a brittle state.

· Annealing

During forming process, glass has withstood dramatic temperature change and shape change, leaving thermal stress in the glass which may reduce the strength and heat stability of the glass products. If the glass is cooled down directly, it may be broken during storage, transportation, or use, to prevent which, annealing shall be performed after forming, that is to say, the glass shall keep warm or cool down slowly within a temperature range for a period of time to eliminate or reduce the thermal stress to the allowable value.

There are three techniques in forming the process of glass container: off-hand glass, mechanical blow, and extrusion forming.

IS bottle-making machine is one of the main equipment used for mechanical blow. There are two techniques for IS bottle-making machine: blow-blow (for bottles with small mouth) and press-blow (for bottles with large mouth).


During the forming process, a quantity of low-pressure compressed air is requested. Generally, the air pressure is around 2.5Bar, and the compressed air shall be oil-free in the food, beverage and medical industry.

Since an air compressor is large energy consumption equipment, glass container manufacturers attach much importance to the air compressor efficiency.
